Role Summary: Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Cluster Manager

AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a high-caliber leader to take the helm of our Canton (JAN) Cluster as a DCEO Cluster Manager. In this senior-level role, you are the ultimate guardian of the cloud’s physical layer, responsible for the 100% uptime of multiple data centers. You will lead a large, multi-disciplinary organization of managers and engineers, ensuring that the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems—the “circulatory and nervous systems” of our data centers—operate with flawless precision. You are a strategic thinker who can navigate global initiatives while remaining ready to “roll up your sleeves” to solve complex technical challenges on the ground.

Key Requirements & Skills

  • 2+ years of management experience

  • 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units

  • Experience in management

  • Experience as a general contractor and in vendor management (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution

  • Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA

  • Experience owning the operation of a mission-critical team or product

  • Experience with large-scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
