Job Description
The Role Funtastic Kids Ltd is looking for energetic and responsible Children’s Holiday Camp Supervisors to lead our upcoming February Half Term and Easter programs. This role is perfect for an experienced childcare professional or educator who thrives in a fast-paced, play-based environment. You will be the face of the camp, ensuring that every child aged 4–13 has a safe, engaging, and memorable holiday experience while managing the staff who make it happen.
Leadership in Play As a Supervisor, you are the heartbeat of the camp. You aren’t just watching from the sidelines; you are leading by example. Your day will involve everything from directing a team of 2–6 playworkers and specialist coaches to ensuring that the “Funtastic” mission of learning through play is met. You will use your initiative to solve problems on the fly, whether that means adapting an activity for a rainy day or supporting a staff member with behavior management techniques.
Your leadership ensures that the camp is more than just childcare—it’s a space where basic literacy, numeracy, and social skills are enhanced through creative engagement. You will maintain a high standard of professionalism, acting as the primary point of contact for parents and ensuring that the setting remains a clean, welcoming environment for every family.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing Safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do. You will be responsible for ensuring that every member of your team—from permanent staff to external musicians—understands and follows our strict safeguarding and health and safety policies. By maintaining a vigilant and caring attitude, you will help identify and protect children at risk, ensuring the camp remains a sanctuary for development and fun.
Who You Are The ideal candidate is a “calm under pressure” leader with a great sense of humor and a genuine passion for childcare. You are someone who understands that “open-ended questioning” and “investigative work” are key to a child’s development. If you are a qualified professional (NVQ Level 3) with a positive attitude and a sense of responsibility, we want to help you lead our next successful camp season.
Funtastic Kids Ltd is an Ofsted-registered childcare provider that specializes in high-quality Wrap Around Care (Breakfast and After School Clubs) and themed Holiday Camps for children aged 4 to 13. While the company is primarily based in Berkshire (with its head office in Wokingham), it is a frequently searched entity in Newcastle upon Tyne due to its national recruitment presence for seasonal holiday camp roles and academic research partnerships.
