Employer: Home Instead (Markham/Thornhill Franchise).
Location: Markham and Thornhill, ON (In-home care).
Status: Part-time / Internship (Variety of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts).
Compensation: Starting at $19.50 per hour.
Transportation: Must possess a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and auto insurance.

Key Responsibilities: The “Holistic Support” Cycle
You provide the essential “non-medical” bridge that allows seniors to remain independent and socially active.
Companionship & Vitality: Engage in active conversation and social interaction to stimulate the client’s mental health and reduce isolation.
Domestic Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation to maintain a safe, organized, and nutritious home environment.
Mobility & Errands: Provide transportation for seniors, assisting with grocery shopping, pharmacy trips, and general errands.
Health Coordination: Offer medication and appointment reminders to ensure the client stays on track with their wellness plan.
Specialized Alzheimer’s Care: Utilize Home Instead’s training to provide a calm, supportive environment for clients with memory impairment.

Medication Reminder Systems: Understanding the difference between “Administration” (which you do not do) and “Reminders” (verbal or visual cues) to maintain safety and compliance.
