Job Overview: Energy & Utility Programs Customer Service Rep
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative for their Energy & Utility Programs department in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you serve as a vital link between the state and its residents, ensuring that Hoosiers receive the support they need regarding essential utility assistance and energy programs.
As a representative of this quasi-agency, you will balance high-volume communication with meticulous tracking to help IHCDA meet its mission of promoting self-sufficiency and strengthening Indiana communities.
Key Responsibilities & Departmental Goals
Customer Advocacy & Support
Inquiry Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all customer requests, inquiries, and complaints related to energy and utility assistance programs.
Resolution Tracking: Ensure every interaction is adequately addressed and logged within state systems to monitor program efficacy and service levels.
Mission Alignment: Support the IHCDA’s broader goals of providing housing opportunities and building a sustainable quality of life for residents.
Operations & Leadership
Strategic Support: Participate in fulfilling annual operational goals by maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and data accuracy.
Supervisory Potential: Depending on agency needs, this role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity, overseeing junior staff or specific program segments.
Professional Commitment: As an exempt role, this position requires a high level of accountability to ensure essential functions are met for the community.
Compensation & Qualifications
Salary Range: $47,500 – $57,500 (commensurate with education and experience).
Education & Skills: Successful candidates typically possess strong communication skills, a background in social services or utilities, and the ability to navigate complex state regulations.
