Job Duties

  • Produce high-level research and analysis regarding the intersection of marketing strategy, media consumption, and advertising technology.

  • Draft deep-dive reports and daily briefings that translate complex market shifts into actionable insights for executive-level subscribers.

  • Monitor the evolving landscape of programmatic advertising, retail media networks, and data privacy regulations to identify emerging trends.

  • Deliver compelling presentations and keynote sessions at industry conferences and private client briefings.

  • Evaluate the business impact of major moves by “Big Tech” players and their subsequent ripple effects on the advertising ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with data science teams to incorporate proprietary survey data and forecasting models into written analysis.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for media inquiries and high-profile press interviews within the marketing and tech sectors.

  • Mentor junior analysts by providing rigorous editorial feedback and guidance on research methodologies.

  • Develop frameworks that help clients navigate the transition away from third-party cookies and toward first-party data strategies.

  • Engage with senior leaders at agencies, brands, and tech platforms to gather qualitative market intelligence.


Requirements

  • Possess extensive experience in market research, strategic consulting, or high-level business journalism within the ad tech or media space.

  • Demonstrate an authoritative understanding of the global advertising ecosystem and the technical infrastructure supporting digital media.

  • Show a proven track record of publishing analytical content that influences C-suite decision-making.

  • Exhibit exceptional public speaking skills with the ability to command an audience of industry professionals.

  • Apply rigorous critical thinking to deconstruct hype cycles and identify the underlying commercial reality of new technologies.

  • Maintain a deep network of professional contacts across the marketing, media, and advertising technology sectors.

  • Use advanced data visualization techniques to simplify complex quantitative findings for a broad professional audience.

  • Hold a master’s degree in business, economics, communications, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience.

  • Operate with high autonomy while managing tight editorial deadlines in a fast-paced publishing environment.

  • Reside in or relocate to the New York metropolitan area for regular in-person collaboration and industry events.
