Retail & Café Associate (Talent Pool) | Thuma SoHo

Location: SoHo, NYC (Fully Onsite) Compensation: $18.00 – $25.00 / Hour Status: Future Opportunities (Retail & Barista)

The Role: Brand Ambassador & Hospitality Expert

Whether behind the espresso bar or on the gallery floor, our team members are the face of Thuma. You will be responsible for creating a “best-in-class” environment that mirrors the quality of our furniture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Thuma’s modern aesthetic and values, acting as a knowledgeable guide for our guests.

  • Relationship Building: Create a warm, inviting atmosphere that turns first-time visitors into long-term brand advocates.

  • Visual Excellence: Maintain the flagship’s high-design visual identity, ensuring every detail of the floor and café is within brand guidelines.

  • Product Expertise: Become an expert on Thuma’s furniture and home goods, sharing the “simplicity as luxury” story with passion.

  • Team Collaboration: Work purposefully with your colleagues to meet daily operational goals and store objectives.


What You Bring

We hire for integrity, initiative, and a willingness to learn. While we value specific experience, we are most interested in your collaborative spirit.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in specialty coffee or premium retail preferred.

  • Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and occasional holidays is required.

  • Skills: Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Physical Ability: * Ability to move and lift items up to 75 lbs using appropriate safety equipment.

    • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and maneuvering around a gallery and stockroom for extended periods.
