Job Description

As a Tower Technician II, you will perform advanced installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications hardware on various elevated structures across remote Alaska. This “Evergreen” role involves rigging, mounting antennas, and troubleshooting RF systems while adhering to strict safety standards. You will frequently travel to rural sites via small aircraft or snowmachines, working in extreme weather conditions to maintain critical communication infrastructure.

Primary Duties Climbing towers up to 300ft; microwave antenna installation/alignment; tower erection; site excavation/grounding; rigging and crane signaling.
Travel Up to 100% travel to remote arctic environments.
Required Experience

• 5+ years in construction.


• 3+ years specific to tower erection in rural arctic environments.


• Experience with microwave antennas and sweeping waveguide.

Certifications

• Tower Safety & Rescue (within 3 months)


• Rigging Certification (within 6 months)


• CDL (within 12 months)


• Valid State Driver’s License

Working Environment & Culture

  • Extreme Conditions: You must be prepared to work long hours in “extreme Alaskan conditions” and live in close quarters with co-workers (including shared cooking/cleaning duties).

     

  • Physical Demand: Requires daily climbing of 300-foot towers and the ability to lift/handle heavy materials.
