Supervisor, Box Office – Part-Time
City of Ottawa is seeking a Part-Time Box Office Supervisor to oversee daily operations at various cultural and recreational facilities. You will ensure policies and procedures are followed, deliver exceptional customer service, support cash management, and provide guidance to Customer Service Attendants. You will also serve as the primary contact for patrons, tenants, maintenance staff, and building security.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service & Supervision
• Supervise daily activities of guest services staff, ensuring adherence to theatre policies and high-quality service.
• Train, guide, and monitor Customer Service Attendants to maintain operational standards.
• Act as first point of contact for problem resolution involving patrons, tenants, maintenance staff, or security.
• Promote excellent customer relations and a welcoming environment.
Administrative & Technical Support
• Assist with clerical, administrative, and technical duties as required.
• Support cash management processes and ensure proper handling of funds.
• Maintain accurate records of daily operations and transactions.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all health, safety, and AODA accessibility standards.
• Monitor and address potential risks or hazards in the workplace.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and City policies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Completion of Grade 12.
• Minimum of 1 year customer service experience by phone and in-person, preferably in a cultural setting.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENCES
• Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and/or AED certification.
• AODA Customer Service / IASR Training.
KNOWLEDGE
• Proficient with computers and corporate software applications.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash management and process systems.
