Key Responsibilities: The “Store Flow” Cycle

You are responsible for the constant movement of products from the warehouse to the customer’s cart.

  • Inventory Management: Efficiently stock shelves and endcaps, ensuring that high-turnover items are always available and neatly organized.

  • Front-End Operations: Process customer transactions with speed and accuracy using Point of Sale (POS) systems, managing various tender types (cash, debit, credit).

  • Merchandising Standards: Maintain the “Recovery” of the store—tidying aisles, facing products, and ensuring the salesfloor meets corporate visual standards.

  • Operational Collaboration: Work as part of a team-oriented crew to adapt to changing store needs, such as sudden rushes or new shipment arrivals.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Service Wit: A friendly, helpful demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively in a bilingual or French-speaking environment.

  • Logistics Grit: The physical stamina to stand for long shifts and the strength to handle consistent lifting and repetitive motion during stocking.

  • Collaborative Mindset: A “team-first” attitude, willing to jump in wherever the store needs the most support at any given moment.

Technical Insights: High-Volume Retail Efficiency

Success at Dollarama is built on “High-Velocity” retail principles.

  • The “First-In, First-Out” (FIFO) Method: When stocking perishables or seasonal items, you will use FIFO to ensure older stock is sold before newer arrivals, minimizing waste.

  • POS Throughput: You will be measured on your ability to process transactions quickly to keep queue times low. Efficient “Scanning & Bagging” techniques are vital for high-traffic periods.

  • Planogram Execution: You will follow basic store maps to ensure that the “Treasure Hunt” shopping experience—where customers discover unexpected items—is supported by logical product groupings.
