Job Summary: Data Engineering Manager (Burger King)

About the Role As the Data Engineering Manager for The Burger King Company, you will lead the technical architects responsible for processing millions of daily transactions. This onsite leadership role focuses on designing and maintaining the robust AWS-based infrastructure that powers our strategic business insights. You will mentor a talented engineering team, oversee complex ETL lifecycles, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure our data ecosystem is scalable, reliable, and optimized for high-velocity analytics.
Qualifications & Skills:

5+ years of progressive experience in data engineering,

2+ years leading people and engineering teams.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.

Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, SNS, SQS, KMS).

Experience with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake or Redshift.

Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dagster).

Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).

Knowledge of NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.

Experience with Retool development and ticketing systems such as JIRA.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships while managing competing priorities.
