Job Overview: Social Science Teacher (College-Prep & Equity Champion)
Ednovate, Inc. is seeking a visionary Social Science Teacher to join their mission-driven team in Los Angeles. Ednovate is a network of public charter schools designed to bridge the opportunity gap, specifically focusing on students from underserved communities to ensure they are not only accepted to—but also graduate from—competitive four-year universities.
In this role, you aren’t just a lecturer; you are an Equity Champion. You will design rigorous, college-preparatory curricula that challenge students intellectually while building the “transformative relationships” necessary to support their social and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities & Pedagogical Impact
Curriculum & Instruction

Rigorous Design: Develop and implement a Social Science curriculum (History, Government, Economics, etc.) that meets California state standards and aligns with college-prep rigor.

Culturally Responsive Teaching: Integrate diverse perspectives into the lessons, ensuring that the curriculum reflects the lived experiences of a diverse student body.

Data-Driven Instruction: Use student performance data to pivot instructional strategies, providing targeted interventions to ensure every student masters the content.
Relationship Building & Mentorship

Transformative Bonds: Act as an advisor and mentor, fostering a classroom culture of high expectations and deep mutual respect.

Equity Focus: Actively work to dismantle barriers to student achievement, advocating for students and providing the scaffolding they need to succeed in a high-pressure academic environment.

Requirements & Qualifications
Mandatory Credentials

Certification: A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science.

Experience: At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience is highly preferred.
