Job Overview: Social Science Teacher (College-Prep & Equity Champion)

Ednovate, Inc. is seeking a visionary Social Science Teacher to join their mission-driven team in Los Angeles. In this role, you aren’t just a lecturer; you are an Equity Champion. You will design rigorous, college-preparatory curricula that challenge students intellectually while building the “transformative relationships” necessary to support their social and emotional growth.


Key Responsibilities & Pedagogical Impact

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Rigorous Design: Develop and implement a Social Science curriculum (History, Government, Economics, etc.) that meets California state standards and aligns with college-prep rigor.

  • Culturally Responsive Teaching: Integrate diverse perspectives into the lessons, ensuring that the curriculum reflects the lived experiences of a diverse student body.

  • Data-Driven Instruction: Use student performance data to pivot instructional strategies, providing targeted interventions to ensure every student masters the content.

Relationship Building & Mentorship

  • Transformative Bonds: Act as an advisor and mentor, fostering a classroom culture of high expectations and deep mutual respect.

  • Equity Focus: Actively work to dismantle barriers to student achievement, advocating for students and providing the scaffolding they need to succeed in a high-pressure academic environment.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside a “Vibrant Team” of educators to align multidisciplinary goals and share best practices for student engagement.


Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory Credentials

  • Certification: A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience is highly preferred.

  • Educational Philosophy: A demonstrated commitment to social justice, educational equity, and the belief that all students can succeed in college.
