Job Duties

Shift Leadership: Support the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) by leading great shifts, assigning tasks to associates, and ensuring all duties are completed to Taco Bell standards.

Operational Oversight: Execute opening and closing procedures, manage staff breaks, and observe the floor to ensure the business runs smoothly and effectively.

Compliance & Safety: Supervise and enforce New York State Labor Laws and Department of Health (DOH) procedures; maintain a clean, sanitary environment for both staff and guests.

Personnel Management: Control payroll by ensuring correct staffing levels, arrange coverage for “call-outs,” and provide on-the-spot training and feedback to Team Members.

Food Quality Control: Ensure products meet standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and recipe specifications; handle, date, and rotate inventory correctly.

Customer Resolution: Proactively solve customer complaints “with a smile” and ensure a positive guest experience through attentive service and upselling.

Inventory & Vendors: Assist vendors, maintain inventory levels, and manage prep sheets to anticipate high-volume periods.

Financial Integrity: Follow all cash-handling procedures, conduct register audits, and ensure security policies are strictly followed.

Bar & Kitchen Support: Supervise bar operations and inventory where applicable; maintain and clean specialized equipment (grills, convection ovens, refrigeration).
Requirements

Availability: Must have fully flexible “open” availability, including mornings, days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.

Certifications: Valid NYC Food Safety Certification or ServSafe is required.

Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of management experience in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of professional cooking, knife handling, and food sanitation procedures.

Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, a high energy level, and an entrepreneurial “sense of urgency.”

Adaptability: Ability to manage time wisely and adjust priorities in a high-volume, ever-changing environment.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven track record in a supervisory role, preferably within the food/retail industry.

Physical Ability: Capacity to work on your feet for an 8-hour shift and handle food preparation during peak periods.
