This is a Middle Office / COO role. You are closely aligned with the business (Markets) but focus on governance, infrastructure, and controls rather than direct trading.
3. What is “MCA”?
Manager’s Control Assessment is Citi’s internal framework for managers to self-identify risks and test the effectiveness of their own controls.

Yes, Citi uses AI to help align candidate skills with openings, but they explicitly state that all final hiring decisions are made by humans.
Expert Analysis
For a VP in Toronto, this role offers a rare vantage point over both US and Canadian operations. Given the 2026 regulatory landscape, “Legal Entity Governance” has shifted from a back-office administrative task to a front-and-center strategic requirement. Candidates who can navigate CIRO (Canada) and SEC/FINRA (US) requirements simultaneously will be at a major advantage.
Career Path
Successful Senior Business Associates in the Markets COO team often advance to Director level roles in Business Management, Chief of Staff positions, or specialized leadership roles within Risk and Control.
