Key Responsibilities

The Security Controller manages the delicate balance between high-level security and seamless operational facilitation:

  • Strategic Security Planning: Develop and continuously review the basic security plans for Emirates facilities, ensuring they remain relevant against a shifting global threat landscape.

  • Incident & Crisis Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with Government agencies (DCA, GCAA, Immigration, Police) during “red alert” situations and incident reporting.

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Coordinate between specialized units (Cargo Security, Fraud Prevention, Investigations) to ensure a unified and organized response to network-wide threats.

  • Technical Solution Advisory: Recommend and monitor technical security solutions that integrate cost-effectiveness with system performance, hindering unlawful acts without disrupting smooth operations.

  • Performance & KPI Development: Establish corporate and departmental KPIs to track security effectiveness and facilitation requirements, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Contractual & Legal Oversight: Assist in developing security proposals and agreements for international carriers. Collaborate with the Legal department to review MOUs and third-party contracts before execution.

  • Project Management: Provide expert project management support to various departments, acting as the security authority for new corporate initiatives.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Nationality: This position is specifically for UAE Nationals (Emiratization).

  • Academic Foundation: A completed University Degree or Honors qualification (12+3 or equivalent).

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years in Security Investigations and/or Fraud Detection, with prior aviation industry exposure at a supervisory level .

  • Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 17 , IATA regulations, bomb detection/disposal procedures, and emergency protocols for hijacks and accidents.

  • Operational Knowledge: Clear understanding of airside and landside operations and the functioning of various airline departments (Flight Ops, Ground Handling).

  • Communication Excellence: Outstanding report-writing skills and the ability to communicate fluently in both Arabic and English.

  • High-Stakes Judgment: Proven ability to exercise calm, rational, and flexible judgment during high-risk aviation threat situations.
