Target offers several specialized roles depending on where your strengths lie. During the application process, you may be considered for the following:

Service & Engagement (Guest Advocate): You are the face of the store. You welcome guests, handle transactions at the lanes, and manage the front-end experience to ensure everyone leaves saying “I love Target!”
General Merchandise & Food Sales: You are an expert in operations. You ensure products are accurately priced, signed, and stocked so guests can always find what they need.
Specialty Sales (Style, Tech, Beauty): You act as a consultant, providing tailored suggestions and using visual merchandising to inspire guests and help them find specific solutions.
Fulfillment Expert: You are the behind-the-scenes hero, picking and packing orders for “Order Pickup” and “Drive Up” with speed and accuracy.

Your Daily Impact

Guest First Culture: Resolve guest questions on the spot and provide a welcoming environment.
Operational Excellence: Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely. You’ll be active—climbing ladders and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Inventory Management: Support “in-stock” goals by ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
Technology Integration: Use handheld devices (zebras) to track inventory, fulfill orders, and assist guests.

The Seasonal Workflow

To keep the store running smoothly during high-traffic seasons, we follow a high-speed operational flow:

Inbound/Unload: Merchandise arrives and is sorted quickly by department.
The Push: Product is moved to the floor and stocked following strict visual standards.
Guest Engagement: Sales floor experts assist guests while Fulfillment experts pick digital orders.
The Front End: Guest Advocates ensure a fast, friendly checkout and a clean “recovery” of the store.
