Joe Coffee is seeking the “best of the best” for our premium events division. This isn’t your average café shift—this is “high-touch” hospitality in non-standard, often high-stakes environments. We are looking for elite Baristas who can bring the fine-dining excellence of Joe Coffee to galleries, corporate summits, private galas, and beyond.

If you are a self-managed coffee professional who thrives on problem-solving, possesses engaging charisma, and can maintain “Invitational Hospitality” under pressure, we want you on our events roster.

The Role: Excellence in Motion

As an Event Barista, you are a brand ambassador, a logistics coordinator, and a master crafter all at once. You will be responsible for representing Joe Coffee with a blend of “trustworthy competence” and personal flair.

Key Responsibilities:

Invitational Hospitality: Inspire genuine conversation with guests, creatively manage expectations, and represent the brand with a playful yet professional spirit.
Masterful Execution: Deliver high-quality espresso and specialty drinks with consistent latte art, even in unique or challenging pop-up locations.
Bar Flow Optimization: Dynamically adjust your workflow to suit different event layouts and shifting guest volumes while keeping your station immaculate.
Team Synergy: Communicate needs clearly and offer coaching to peers with grace. Manage your schedule with high precision through digital tools (Google Chat).
Logistics & Presentation: Maintain a neat, professional appearance that balances personal style with event-specific dress codes. Support the setup and breakdown of mobile coffee stations.

What You Bring to the Event

We are looking for seasoned veterans of the New York specialty coffee scene.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of specialty coffee experience.
Certifications: Valid Food Handler’s License is required.
Communication: Tech-savvy and responsive (specifically with Google Chat).
Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift and move 50–70 lbs of equipment and stand for ~8 hours.
Reliability: Proven ability to execute high-volume service in high-stress environments.

Preferred Capabilities:

1+ year of catering or event-specific experience.
Logistics Skills: Driver’s license (comfort driving a cargo van in NYC) and experience in packing/moving.
Soft Skills: Engaging charisma, a strong sense of urgency, and bilingual abilities.
