Sales Associate

Job Duties

• Engage with customers entering the New York storefront to provide a welcoming and professional shopping environment.

• Demonstrate deep product knowledge to effectively communicate features, benefits, and price points to prospective buyers.

• Execute sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system while managing cash and credit handling.

• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue goals of the retail location.

• Maintain the visual integrity of the sales floor by restocking merchandise and adjusting displays according to brand standards.

• Assist with inventory management tasks including receiving shipments, tagging items, and performing periodic cycle counts.

• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with a focus on maintaining high levels of brand loyalty and satisfaction.

• Collect customer contact information to build a local clienteling database for future marketing outreach.

• Coordinate with the stockroom team to ensure a seamless flow of product from storage to the retail floor.

• Participate in opening and closing procedures to ensure the security and cleanliness of the retail space.

Requirements

• Possess prior experience in a high-traffic retail or customer service environment, preferably in the New York market.

• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with a diverse clientele.

• Demonstrate a reliable and punctual work ethic suitable for a scheduled part-time position.

• Show proficiency in operating digital point-of-sale hardware and basic inventory software.

• Communicate effectively and persuasively to drive conversion rates and upsell complementary products.

• Adapt to a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

• Maintain the physical stamina required to stand for extended periods and move merchandise as needed.

• Work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holiday shifts as required by business needs.

• Evidence a genuine interest in the brand’s industry and a willingness to stay updated on product trends.

• Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the New York City location.
