Job Summary: Roll-Off Driver (CDL A or B)

About the Role As a Roll-Off Driver, you are responsible for the safe transport of commercial material containers between construction sites, landfills, and asphalt plants. This is a technical driving role that requires more than just road time; you will actively manage your load, ensuring contents are secure and properly balanced for safe transport. You will navigate both public highways and rugged construction terrain, utilizing your expertise in USDOT regulations and vehicle mechanics to keep our projects moving forward efficiently.
Key Duties:

Safe Operation: Expertly navigate a Roll-Off CDL vehicle on public roads and private construction sites.

Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct rigorous Pre/Post-trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR); monitor fluid levels (oil, water, fuel) and report repair needs immediately.

Load Management: Visually assess container contents and secure, reposition, or adjust loads to ensure safety during transit.

Logistics & Tech: Interpret dispatched routing and maps; maintain accurate written or digital records of all container movements.

Communication: Maintain frequent verbal contact with Dispatch and Supervisors to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
Qualification Requirements:

Licensing: Valid Class “A” or “B” CDL with a driving record meeting company MVR policy.

Certification: Must hold and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driving experience.

Technical Skill: Proficient in operating both manual and automatic transmissions.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Endurance: Ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, including nights and weekends.

Agility: Frequent climbing into/out of the cab, stooping, bending, and walking on uneven terrain (sand, gravel, dirt).

Strength: Periodically lift or pull at least 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Conditions: Exposure to outdoor elements including dust, dirt, grease, and noise; must be comfortable wearing PPE (hardhat, safety glasses).
