The UC San Diego Department of Ophthalmology, located at the prestigious Shiley Eye Institute in La Jolla, CA, is seeking a highly organized Residency and Fellowship Program Administrator. This full-time (100% appointment) role offers a competitive salary range of $71,600.00 – $99,500.00 per year and features a flexible hybrid work schedule, blending on-site engagement with remote administrative support.
In this pivotal academic role, you will manage the comprehensive administration of programs supporting over 30 residents and fellows. Your core responsibilities include spearheading the annual recruitment cycle—processing 700+ applications and coordinating 55+ interviews—while ensuring strict adherence to ACGME, RRC, and AUPO accreditation standards. You will serve as the primary liaison between the department, the School of Medicine, and the VA Hospital, managing complex curriculum scheduling, budget reconciliation for resident stipends, and data integrity within the MedHub Residency Management System.
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of related experience (or seven years of equivalent professional training). You must demonstrate technical proficiency in SFMatch and CAS, alongside strong statistical analysis skills for program reporting.
