Core Responsibilities

Physical Plant Upkeep: Execute general repairs to building structures, furniture, and equipment, ensuring the facility remains in “Grand Opening” condition.

Systems Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire detection systems under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager (ESM).

Room Renovations: Lead room turnarounds, including professional painting, wallpapering, and surface repairs to prepare for new residents.

Grounds Surveillance: Perform routine checks of parking lots and underground garages, maintaining high standards of curb appeal and safety.

Preventative Maintenance: Assist in the proactive scheduling of equipment checks to prevent costly “emergency” failures.

Safety & Security: Ensure 100% compliance with fire safety codes and resident security protocols, acting as a “First Responder” for facility-related risks.

Inventory Management: Track maintenance supplies to ensure the team has the “Integrity-first” tools needed for daily operations.
Candidate Requirements

Experience: 2+ years of maintenance experience, ideally within a healthcare or retirement setting.

Technical Wit: Functional knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems; ability to make minor adjustments to complex mechanical plants.

Physicality: “Grit-heavy”—must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently and push/pull up to 160 lbs as needed. Requires standing and walking for long periods.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and a genuine interest in working with seniors.

Licensing: Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle for regional travel.
Technical Focus: Preventative Maintenance (PM)
