Job Description
Are you an organized, friendly professional looking for a way to stay active during the winter months? About Staffing Ltd. is seeking Holiday Reception & Admin Support to join our Calgary team. As a recruitment agency, our front desk is the heart of our operations, and we need someone with the “wit” to handle a busy switchboard and the “grit” to keep the office running smoothly while our permanent staff are on holiday.
In this role, you are the face and voice of our company. Whether you are welcoming a job seeker for their first interview or helping a client get in touch with a recruiter, your goal is to make every interaction professional and pleasant. We look for individuals who take initiative—someone who notices when the coffee station needs a refill or when a filing project could use a helping hand. It’s a great way to see the inner workings of the recruitment industry while earning a competitive hourly wage.
Joining About Staffing for this temporary assignment means joining a team that values energy and collaboration. We offer a supportive environment where you will be given the tools to succeed and the chance to show off your administrative skills. If you are a self-motivated individual who prides yourself on punctuality and helpfulness, we would love to have you support us during this festive season.

About Staffing Ltd. | Calgary, AB
About Staffing Ltd. is a prominent, locally-owned recruitment and employment agency headquartered in Calgary. Founded in 1996 by CEO Sharlene Massie, the firm has grown from a home-based startup into a major player in the Alberta labor market. They specialize in a broad spectrum of placements, including corporate, industrial, and executive roles, while maintaining a trademarked focus on organizational culture.
Company Culture: “Masters at Matching Culture®”
The culture at About Staffing is defined by its human-centric approach in an increasingly automated industry. They prioritize personal interaction over algorithm-based sorting.
-
Human-to-Human Connection: A core cultural pillar is the belief that “resumes don’t tell the full story.” Recruiters are known for meeting every candidate face-to-face (or via deep-dive interviews) to assess “soft skills” and personality traits that a database might miss.
-
Core Values: The workplace operates under four guiding principles: Stability, Loyalty, Sincerity, and Enthusiasm. These values aren’t just for clients; they define the internal team’s interactions and their longevity (many internal staff have been with the firm for over a decade).
-
“Look Forward to Monday®”: This trademarked philosophy drives their mission to place candidates in environments where they won’t just perform tasks, but will actually enjoy their work life.
-
Resilience and Leadership: The company culture is heavily influenced by the “gritty determination” of its founder. Having navigated the 2013 Calgary floods and multiple economic cycles, the team values adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
Location: The Mission District Hub
In 2023, About Staffing moved to a vibrant new office space in Calgary’s Mission district, marking a significant milestone in their growth.
