Job Overview: Production Technician I (Entry Level)
L2 Aviation is seeking a detail-oriented Production Technician I to join its manufacturing team near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This role is fundamental to the aerospace industry, as you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling high-quality wire harnesses and electronic components that power modern aircraft.
This is a 1st Shift position (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) offering a strong entry-point into aerospace manufacturing with a focus on precision, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities & Technical Tasks
Harness Fabrication & Assembly

Wire Preparation: Stripping wires, crimping pins, and installing solder sleeves.

Termination: Precision-inserting prepped wires into connectors, including exposure to complex terminations like Quadrax and Coax.

Form Boarding: Laying out and assembling harnesses according to detailed engineering documents and drawings.

Laser Marking: Operating machinery to mark wires and create identification labels for bags and harnesses.
Quality Control & Testing

Inspections: Performing incoming inspections of material kits and final “bag and kit” audits.

Continuity Checks: Using avionics test equipment, such as digital multi-meters and TDRs, to ensure all assemblies are electrically sound.

Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to Company SOPs, aircraft manufacturer standard wiring practices, and FAA requirements.
Shop Stewardship

Continuous Improvement: Proactively participating in the department’s improvement programs and helping revise existing SOPs.

Maintenance: Responsibility for tool control and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Education: High school diploma or trade school equivalent.

Legal: Must be legally authorized to work in the USA and pass a background check and drug screening.

Skills: Basic computer literacy, dependability, and the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
Preferred Experience
-
Manufacturing: Prior experience in harness fabrication, electronics, or general manufacturing.

Technical Skills: Ability to read color-codes and interpret complex harness drawings.

Soldering: Experience with soldering (IPC-610 or J-STD-001 certifications are highly desirable).

Hand Tools: Proficiency with a variety of manual hand tools used in electronics assembly.

Note on Training: Initial training for this role may require a 4 to 6-week stay at L2 Aviation’s facility in Dripping Springs, Texas, depending on your current experience level.
