Job Overview: Plant, Turf & Tree Care Pesticide Technician

Lawn Management Company is seeking a skilled Pesticide Technician to join their specialized tree and plant health care team in Houston. This role is designed for a professional who enjoys independent outdoor work and has a strong technical foundation in arboriculture and pest management.

In this position, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating high-value landscapes, ranging from upscale private estates to large corporate campuses, ensuring the health and longevity of their greenery.


Key Responsibilities & Technical Tasks

Plant Health Care (PHC)

  • Diagnostic Execution: Utilize knowledge of tree identification, pests, and diseases to assess the health of diverse plant species across Houston.

  • Control Measures: Independently apply pesticides, fungicides, and other control measures using specialized spraying equipment.

  • Nutrient Management: Perform fertilization applications tailored to the specific needs of trees and shrubs.

  • IPM Implementation: Apply Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles to solve landscape issues with a focus on long-term sustainability and effectiveness.

Field Operations

  • Independent Management: Navigate and service upscale properties autonomously, maintaining a professional presence and high-quality results.

  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain tree spraying and fertilization machinery.


Qualifications & Requirements

Core Competencies

  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of tree identification, local pests, and common plant diseases.

  • Field Experience: Practical experience in tree spraying, fertilization, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

  • Work Preference: A strong desire and physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Desired: A valid Spray Operator License.

  • Preferred (Pluses): A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and/or ISA Arborist Certification will significantly enhance your candidacy.
