Job Summary: Parts Specialist (O’Reilly Auto Parts)
Intro Join a company with a proven track record of stability and a “promote-from-within” philosophy! O’Reilly Auto Parts is looking for a high-energy Parts Specialist to provide world-class service to both retail DIYers and professional installers. If you are passionate about the automotive industry and want to grow your career with an organization that values growth and stability, you belong on our team.
About the Role As a Parts Specialist, you are the technical heartbeat of the store. You’ll be responsible for far more than just standing behind a counter; you are a problem-solver who assists customers in finding the right parts for their vehicles, accurately quotes prices, and promotes our “Low Price Guarantee.” You will multitask between in-person shoppers and phone inquiries while performing hands-on services like testing batteries, scanning engine codes, and installing wiper blades. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of retail expertise and technical “under-the-hood” assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Customer Service: Execute company service programs (Hi-5, Rock the Lot) and resolve customer complaints with a friendly, professional demeanor.
-
Technical Assistance: Operate brake lathes, test charging systems, and perform basic vehicle services like battery and headlight replacement.
-
Operations: Maintain cash drawer accuracy, process returns, and assist with inventory tasks like cycle counts and stock adjustments.
-
Merchandising: Complete planogram updates, receive freight, and ensure shelves are stocked, cleaned, and “faced” for a premium shopping experience.
-
Logistics: Occasionally operate a delivery vehicle to ensure professional customers receive their parts on time.
Qualifications:
-
Required: Ability to match alphanumeric sequences quickly and multitask in a busy environment.
-
Desired: Familiarity with automotive parts/cataloging (Weatherly index), ASE certification, and prior sales experience.
-
Language: Bilingual candidates (especially Spanish-speaking) are highly encouraged to apply.
-
Driving: Must have a driving record that meets company eligibility requirements.
Total Compensation & Benefits:
-
Immediate Security: 401(k) with employer contributions and Stock Purchase Plan starting Day One.
-
Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plus wellbeing programs.
-
Growth: Tuition assistance and clear career advancement pathways.
-
Stability: Competitive wages and generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
