Job Overview: Part-Time Afternoon Support Teacher (Infants)
Primrose School at Summerwood is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher to join their infant program. In this role, you will be more than a caregiver; you will be an educator helping infants explore and understand their world through the research-informed Primrose Balanced Learning® approach.

Key Responsibilities & Classroom Functions
Instruction & Development

Curriculum Implementation: Execute approved lesson plans and daily schedules that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

Classroom Management: Supervise daily functions for a group of infants, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Positive Reinforcement: Provide verbal recognition and clear, consistent behavioral expectations to help children build confidence.
Environment & Safety

Classroom Upkeep: Maintain an attractive, organized, and clean classroom that encourages exploration.

Regulatory Compliance: Follow all Primrose, local, and state regulations regarding the health and safety of children.

Maintenance: Assist with necessary housekeeping duties in the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds to ensure a premier facility standard.
Qualifications & Requirements
Core Competencies

Educational Knowledge: Understanding of the creative, social, and emotional needs of very young children.

Regulatory Standards: Must meet all basic requirements set by local child care regulatory agencies.

Experience: Previous experience in a licensed early childhood program or assistant teaching role is preferred.
Physical Requirements

Stamina & Strength: Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs for the handling of children and emergency situations.

Infant Care: Specific ability to properly lift infants in and out of cribs safely and repeatedly.
Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $9.00 – $11.00 per hour (dependent on experience).

Location: 14002 W. Lake Houston Pkwy, Houston, TX 77044 (Summerwood area).
