To maintain a high-volume retail environment, Home Depot utilizes a specific “Flow-to-Floor” methodology.
-
“Striping” the Overheads: This is a specific organization technique where items are placed in the overhead directly above their “home” location on the shelf. This minimizes the time spent searching for stock during peak hours.
-
Power Equipment Safety: Operating reach trucks and order pickers in narrow aisles requires a “Safety-First” mindset. You must maintain a “Zone of Safety” (typically 10 feet) around the machine at all times.
-
The “GET” Model: Even on the overnight shift, you may encounter early-morning pros or late-night DIYers. You will be trained in the Greet, Engage, and Thank model to ensure customer satisfaction.
