Sunland Home Care is looking for compassionate, experienced caregivers to support our senior clients in their own homes. We don’t just offer a job; we offer a supportive community where your hard work is recognized through our Champions Club and Employee of the Month programs.
If you have a heart for seniors and at least one year of experience, we’d love to get you started with our North Phoenix and Scottsdale families.
Why You’ll Love Sunland
-
Top-Tier Pay: Start at $18/hr for days or $22/hr for overnights—well above the state average.
-
The $400 Milestone: Earn a $400 bonus once you hit your first 100 hours.
-
Get Paid Weekly: No more waiting two weeks for your paycheck; we use direct deposit every week.
-
Growth & Support: We provide paid training (including CPR/First Aid) and free uniforms.
-
Future Planning: 401(k) eligibility kicks in after just six months.
What the Role Looks Like
As an in-home caregiver, your goal is to help seniors stay safe, comfortable, and happy in their own space.
-
Daily Support: Helping with “ADLs” like dressing, grooming, and hygiene (showers/toileting).
-
Household Help: Light cleaning and preparing nutritious meals.
-
Safety & Health: Providing medication reminders (non-medical) and assisting with safe transfers/mobility.
-
Companionship: Being a friend—someone to talk to, play games with, or take to appointments and shopping trips.
-
Documentation: Briefly logging your shift activities electronically so the family stays informed.
Requirements to Join
-
Experience: At least one year of caregiving under your belt.
-
Legal & Safety: You’ll need an Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (we can help you get this), a valid driver’s license, and a clear background/drug screen.
-
Health: A negative TB test from within the last 12 months.
-
Physicality: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and help clients move or transfer safely.
Understanding the Caregiver’s Physical Role
Providing high-quality care requires a mix of empathy and physical technique. Using proper mechanics is essential for both your safety and the client’s comfort.
-
Safe Transfers: Always use your legs, not your back, when assisting a client from a bed to a chair.
-
Mobility Support: Utilizing gait belts or walker assistance to ensure a steady pace.
-
Infection Control: Following standard sanitization and glove protocols during hygiene support.
