MEP Director – Major Infrastructure Programme | Bahamas

$15,000 + per month (DOE) + Full Expat Package

Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role

A major, high-value infrastructure programme in the Bahamas is seeking an experienced and visionary MEP Director to lead the full technical, design, delivery, and stakeholder coordination functions for a complex, multi-phase development.

This is a senior strategic position suited to a leader with extensive experience managing MEP works on large-scale projects, driving excellence across design, engineering, delivery, commercial performance, and compliance.

PPP project experience is a major advantage due to the multi-stakeholder environment and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Delivery
• Provide strategic leadership to the MEP project team, ensuring consistent delivery in line with technical requirements, design intent, and project objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day management of the MEP function, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and delivery across all project stages.
• Ensure full compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory frameworks.

Design Oversight & Coordination
• Lead and coordinate design development, including working drawings, technical reviews, and design sign-off processes.
• Manage design consultants and ensure timely production of all design information.
• Support design assist, design coordination, and value engineering initiatives.

Commercial & Contractual
• Maintain control of project P&L for the MEP scope, conducting risk reviews and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Ensure clarity in scope, avoiding design gaps and managing changes through structured processes.

Stakeholder Management
• Develop strong, credible relationships with clients, shareholders, consultants, and the supply chain.
• Communicate clearly on technical matters, challenges, compliance issues, and design risks.
• Facilitate pre-construction activities, presentations, and workshops.

Governance & Reporting
• Oversee compliance systems, stakeholder approval processes, and design governance workflows.
• Produce and manage all reporting related to MEP performance, risks, progress, and design compliance.
• Oversee technical submittals, ensuring products, systems, and plant meet project requirements.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior MEP professional who can operate confidently at Director level, with:
• Extensive experience on major international construction or infrastructure projects
• Strong design management and technical coordination skills
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary project teams
• Excellent commercial awareness and contract understanding
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• PPP experience strongly preferred due to the complexity of project structures and approvals
