The Company & Culture Nuveen is the investment management arm of TIAA, managing over $1.2 trillion in assets with a legacy rooted in responsible investing and retirement security. Its culture is a unique hybrid of social mission and financial rigor. In 2026, the company is operating under a “Culture of Impact”—a strategy that balances the stability of its parent company, TIAA, with an increasingly agile, AI-integrated approach to asset management. Employees describe the atmosphere as collaborative and collegial, though at times navigating the bureaucracy of a century-old institution can feel slower than at smaller boutiques.
