Job Overview: Lead Talent Acquisition Partner (WealthTech)
This is a high-impact opportunity for a “builder” to join a fast-growing NYC-based WealthTech startup as their first dedicated talent hire. Backed by top-tier investors, this company is on a mission to modernize financial technology, and you will be the primary engine driving their team expansion.
As a one-person talent function, you will work directly with the founders to establish the recruiting infrastructure, define the company culture, and hire the “founding” members of various departments during this critical growth stage.
Key Responsibilities & Strategic Ownership
Full-Cycle Execution
-
Cross-Functional Hiring: Own the entire recruiting lifecycle for diverse roles, including GTM (Sales/Marketing), Product, Engineering, and Operations.
-
Direct Sourcing: Proactively hunt and engage top-tier talent in the competitive New York tech market, moving beyond job board applicants to build elite pipelines.
-
Candidate Experience: Serve as the first face of the company, ensuring every candidate—regardless of the outcome—has a high-touch, professional, and “exceptional” experience.
Building the Talent Machine
-
Founder Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to founders and hiring managers to define headcount needs, interview loops, and evaluation criteria.
-
Process & Branding: Help select and implement recruiting tools (ATS, sourcing platforms) and refine employer branding to attract talent at scale.
-
Autonomy: Operate with a high degree of independence, leading the talent function without an established HR playbook.
Qualifications & “What We’re Looking For”
Professional Profile
-
Experience: ~3–7 years of recruiting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have thrived in a tech company or a fast-moving startup environment.
-
Multi-Function Hiring: Proven success in hiring for both technical (Product/Eng) and business (GTM/Ops) roles.
-
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to manage high-level stakeholders and build trust with founders.
Core Competencies
-
“Scrappy” Mindset: A high-energy, resourceful approach to problem-solving in an environment where resources may be lean but goals are ambitious.

Autonomous Leader: The grit and ability to build a one-person function from the ground up.
-
Sourcing Mastery: Advanced skills in identifying and engaging passive candidates.
Why Join This WealthTech Startup?
-
Mission-Driven: Be part of a team modernizing the financial backbone of institutions and advisors.
