Job Description

Do you believe that Alberta’s parks are our greatest provincial treasure? The Government of Alberta is looking for a Lead Information Officer to join our Calgary regional team. We aren’t just managing land; we are curating the “great outdoors” for millions of visitors. If you have the “grit” to lead a team through a busy long weekend and the “wit” to provide expert guidance on everything from backcountry permits to bear safety, you are the leader we need for our parks.

In this role, you are a “Guardian of the Guest Experience.” You understand that for many, a visit to a provincial park is a bucket-list adventure or a vital family tradition. Your goal is to ensure that every visitor feels welcomed, informed, and inspired to respect our natural spaces. We look for “Integrity-first” leaders who lead from the front—those who take as much pride in coaching their staff as they do in resolving a complex visitor issue.

Joining Alberta Parks means joining a dedicated provincial team that values environmental stewardship and professional excellence. We offer a competitive hourly wage and a workplace “office” that is second to none. We provide a supportive, high-energy environment where your leadership skills are essential to our operational success. If you are a self-motivated professional with a commitment to “Excellence in the Wild,” we invite you to apply and help us showcase the best of Alberta.
