Instructors utilize a proprietary, rigorous curriculum to lead classes of up to 16 students, focusing on student-led discourse, advanced literacy, and critical thinking. This is an in-person, after-school and weekend position requiring a minimum commitment of 3 hours per week per assigned course.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Lead small-group sessions using company-provided, advanced curriculum designed to challenge high-performing students.

  • Student Engagement: Facilitate active, student-led learning environments that prioritize exploration and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Classroom Management: Expertly oversee classroom dynamics for groups of up to 16 students, maintaining a focused and intellectually charged atmosphere.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Evaluate student performance on assignments and tests, providing high-quality, actionable feedback to drive academic growth.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Build professional relationships with students and families to support long-term educational goals and foster a love for learning.

  • Critical Thinking Advocacy: Encourage students to sharpen their analytical skills through deep engagement with reading, writing, and grammar.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational Attainment: A Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Education or a Humanities field (English, History, Philosophy, etc.) is strongly preferred.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep content knowledge in advanced reading comprehension, formal writing mechanics, and complex grammar.

  • Experience: Previous classroom teaching experience at the K–12 level or significant tutoring experience with advanced learners.

  • Logistical Requirements: Must be located in the Greater NYC area and able to commute to the Upper West Side campus for in-person instruction.

  • Legal Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship or STEM-OPT/H-1B support available).

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire a high-achieving peer group.
