  • Position Type: Part-Time Student Position.

  • Schedule: ~10 hours filming (mostly weekend evenings) + ~10 hours remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Cinematography: Use an iPhone to capture high-quality, “in-the-moment” footage of wedding performances, specifically focusing on the energy of the crowd and the fusion of cultures.

  • Content Strategy: Manage social media platforms, transforming raw event footage into engaging reels, stories, and posts that reflect the Mabrook brand.

  • Crowd Engagement: Demonstrate the confidence to move through lively wedding crowds to capture close-up, immersive perspectives of the entertainment.

  • Time Management: Balance a flexible 20-hour work week between on-site filming and independent home-based editing/management.

  • Interpersonal Confidence: Outgoing personality with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and wedding guests.

  • Reliability: Must have consistent availability for weekend evening events across the GTA.

Technical Insights: The Mobile Content Workflow

In the world of wedding entertainment, “Social-First” content is the primary driver of new bookings.

  • The “In-the-Action” Philosophy: Unlike traditional wedding videography that uses tripods, this role focuses on Mobile POV (Point of View). You will be trained to use stabilizers or specific hand-held techniques to ensure iPhone footage remains cinematic despite the movement of the crowd.

  • Fusion Cultural Nuance: Mabrook specializes in bringing cultures together. Your role involves identifying the “high-point” of a performance—such as a specific drum beat or a traditional dance transition—and ensuring the edit highlights that cultural synergy.

  • Remote Post-Production: You will utilize mobile editing suites (like CapCut or Adobe Premiere Rush) to quickly turn around “Same-Day” or “Next-Day” teasers for social media engagement.

Mabrook Entertainment: The Rhythmic Pulse of Fusion Weddings

Mabrook Entertainment’s culture is defined by vibrancy, cultural fusion, and “high-energy” celebration. Since 2015, they have operated with a mission to move beyond the “fancy dinner” wedding stereotype, specializing in high-impact performances that blend diverse traditions. Their internal environment is lively and collaborative, valuing performers who are not only skilled musicians but “energy architects” capable of bridging cultural boundaries. Whether it’s an Arabic Zaffa or a modern LED drumming show, the team operates with a “People-First” and professional mindset, ensuring that every grand entrance is both a traditional tribute and a modern dance party.

While their performers are constantly on the move across the city’s banquet halls and private residences, Mabrook Entertainment’s operational presence in Toronto is integrated into the city’s bustling core:

  • Toronto Operations: They maintain a presence at 1 Dundas Street East, situated in the iconic Eaton Centre complex at Yonge and Dundas. This “center-of-the-universe” location reflects their role as a connector within Toronto’s multicultural landscape.

  • A “Silicon Valley” of Sound: From this central hub, they coordinate a diverse roster of talent that includes specialists in the darbuka (Egyptian tabla), Indian dhol, African djembe, and Greek bouzouki.

  • The Experience: Working for or with Mabrook in Toronto means being at the intersection of event tech (like their signature LED drums) and ancient rhythmic traditions. They are a staple at high-end venues across the GTA, from The Arlington Estate to intimate downtown lofts, known for their ability to coordinate seamlessly with DJs to “set the heartbeat” of a celebration.
