Job Summary

This is a rare opportunity to enter the Cyber Insurance field—one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry—with a global leader. You don’t need to be a cybersecurity expert today; Aon is looking for someone with the interpersonal grit and analytical curiosity to grow into a top-tier advisor.

FAQs

1. Do I need a technical cybersecurity background?

No. While knowledge of cyber products is a bonus, Aon is looking for “Broking” skills—the ability to communicate, negotiate, and manage relationships. The technical knowledge will be taught on the job.

2. Is a RIBO license required?

Most broker roles at Aon Canada require an active RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario) license. If you don’t have one, you will likely be expected to obtain it shortly after hiring.

3. What makes the “National Cyber & Privacy Practice” unique?

This team uses proprietary data (like the CyQu evaluation tool) to quantify risk. You aren’t just selling a policy; you are using data and analytics to help a CEO decide how to protect their company’s future.

4. What is the “Aon United” approach?

It means all teams (Risk, Health, Wealth) work together to deliver the full power of the global firm to a single client, ensuring no gaps in their protection.

Expert Analysis

Cyber risk is no longer just “an IT problem”—it is a balance-sheet-level threat. In the 2026 market, cyber brokers are among the highest-paid specialists because of the complexity of the risk. Joining Aon’s practice in Toronto puts you at the heart of Canada’s financial district, working on high-profile accounts that require sophisticated risk-transfer strategies.

Career Path

Starting as a Cyber Broker at Aon leads to several advanced paths:

  • Senior Broker / VP: Leading complex placements for Fortune 500 clients.

  • Cyber Practice Leader: Managing regional or national specialist teams.

  • Cyber Consultant: Transitioning into a pure advisory role focused on pre-incident risk mitigation.
