The Hotel Accountant at the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites Calgary Downtown is a vital financial role within the Manga Hotel Group. This position manages the complex accounting landscape of two distinct Hilton properties, totaling 320 rooms, and a high-volume food and beverage operation. Reporting directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to ownership, you will oversee accounts receivable, revenue auditing, and chargeback management to ensure the financial integrity of these East Village landmark hotels.

Core Responsibilities

  • Revenue Auditing: Review and balance the Daily Revenue Report; verify credit card settlements, F&B postings, and investigate any financial irregularities.

  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the full cycle of direct billing for both properties, ensuring all invoices are accurate, timely, and reconciled.

  • Credit & Collection: Maintain an efficient collection process, including aging report management, collection calls, and interest charges.

  • Chargeback Management: Proactively manage retrieval requests, submit proof of purchase, and implement procedures to minimize future chargebacks.

  • Adjustment Oversight: Review all financial adjustments to verify legitimacy and accuracy before daily report distribution.

  • System Integration: Manage data across Hilton’s proprietary systems and modern accounting automation platforms.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, specifically within the hospitality or hotel industry.

  • System Proficiency: * Hands-on experience with OnQ/PEP (Hilton’s Property Management System) is highly preferred.

    • Strong knowledge of Sage/Beanworks (AP automation) and Payworks (payroll).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a solid grasp of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles).

  • Soft Skills: A self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision; strong attention to detail and professional communication skills.
