Job Duties

  • Present a positive first impression of the establishment through friendly greetings and attentive service in accordance with company standards.

  • Manage guest arrivals by informing them of wait times, monitoring waiting lists, and entering names into the reservation system.

  • Show guests to their assigned tables and provide menus while answering initial questions about the dining experience.

  • Execute meticulous reservation administration to ensure every guest detail is accurately recorded following established procedures.

  • Assign guests to preferred tables across 110 seats while managing table rotation to ensure balanced customer flow for the service staff.

  • Engage with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfaction with food and service and resolve any immediate complaints.

  • Answer high volumes of phone calls to manage bookings and respond to guest inquiries regarding the menu or venue aesthetics.

  • Communicate clearly with service staff and management throughout the shift to facilitate smooth and efficient transitions.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the floorplan, table numbers, and seat positions to expedite seating and service.

  • Complete all assigned pre-shift and post-shift side work to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the host station.

  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to respect the right of way and maintain safety in high-traffic areas.

  • Bid guests a warm farewell upon their departure to ensure a lasting positive impression.


Requirements

  • Manage guest interactions calmly and effectively within a fast-paced and busy restaurant environment.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle simultaneous reservations and walk-in traffic.

  • Utilize restaurant point-of-sale or reservation systems to track guest data and table availability.

  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times.

  • Prioritize work activities and respond to management requests in a timely and courteous manner.

  • Apply basic math and measurement skills for administrative tasks and floor management.

  • Commit to a flexible schedule that includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including the Department of Health rules.


Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant or related hospitality environment.

  • Hold a state-approved Prevention of Sexual Harassment Training certificate.

  • Demonstrate the physical ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 45 pounds.

  • Maintain the stamina to repetitively climb stairs and work in a moderate to loud environment.
