Heavy Vehicle Electrician
OWS Automotive • Dubai, United Arab Emirates
OWS Automotive , a premier name in the UAE’s automotive service sector, is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Vehicle Electrician to join our elite workshop team. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on the complexity of heavy-duty machinery—from massive commercial trucks and buses to specialized trailers.
As a specialist in heavy automobile electrical systems, you will be the “diagnostic heart” of our workshop. You will be responsible for ensuring that the electrical “nervous systems” of our fleet—including advanced engine control modules, charging systems, and lighting networks—operate with 100% reliability. In the demanding climate of the UAE, where electrical systems face extreme heat and heavy loads, your expertise is critical to maintaining fleet uptime and safety.
Key Responsibilities
The Heavy Vehicle Electrician ensures every vehicle meets peak operational and safety standards:
-
Complex Diagnostics: Utilize advanced diagnostic scanners and multimeters to identify faults in engine management systems, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs).
-
System Maintenance: Install, maintain, and overhaul critical electrical components including heavy-duty starters, alternators, and multi-battery banks.
-
Wiring & Schematics: Read and interpret intricate electrical wiring diagrams to troubleshoot or re-wire vehicle systems, ensuring all connections are secure and weatherproof.
-
Component Repair: Repair or replace faulty electrical parts such as fuel injection solenoids, relays, fuses, and intricate interior/exterior lighting systems.
-
Preventive Inspections: Conduct regular electrical health checks to identify potential failures before they lead to breakdowns, focusing on battery health and grounding points.
-
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all repairs are executed according to international safety standards and maintain meticulous service records for every vehicle handled.
Required Qualifications & Skills
OWS Automotive seeks a technician with a “Solution-First” mindset and deep regional experience:
-
Professional Tenure: Minimum 4-6 years of experience specifically as a Heavy Automobile Electrician.
-
Regional Expertise: At least 3 years of UAE or GCC workshop experience is highly preferred, given the specific environmental challenges for vehicle electronics in the region.
-
Technical Literacy: Exceptional ability to read and analyze electrical wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
-
Diagnostic Mastery: Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools to interface with various heavy vehicle brands (trucks, trailers, buses).
-
Core Knowledge: Deep understanding of charging systems, high-amperage batteries, and heavy-duty starter motors.
-
Availability: Ability to join the team within 15 days is a significant advantage.
About the Company: OWS Automotive

Market & Industry Context: The Logistics Spine of the UAE
Dubai is a global logistics crossroads, where the fleet of heavy trucks and buses serves as the economy’s backbone. In 2026, the transition towards Telematics and Hybrid Heavy Vehicles has made the role of an Electrician more sophisticated than ever. You will be working at the intersection of traditional mechanical power and modern electronic intelligence, ensuring that the vehicles powering the UAE’s trade remain operational in a “Smart City” environment.
Career Growth & Progression Path
OWS Automotive is a platform for technical and leadership development:
-
Senior Heavy Electrician: Taking lead on the most complex “dead-on-arrival” electrical failures and mentoring junior technicians.
-
Workshop Team Lead: Overseeing the workflow of the electrical department and coordinating with the mechanical and bodywork teams.
-
Diagnostic Specialist: Moving into a specialized role focused exclusively on high-level ECU programming and telematics integration.
-
Workshop Supervisor: Managing the entire workshop facility, focusing on labor efficiency, safety audits, and customer satisfaction.
Interview Preparation Insights
Expect the interview to be a practical demonstration of your troubleshooting logic:
-
The “No-Start” Scenario: Be prepared to walk through your step-by-step diagnostic process for a heavy truck that won’t crank. Where do you start—battery, relay, or starter?
-
Diagram Literacy: You will likely be asked to read a sample wiring schematic and identify a potential short-circuit point.
-
Diagnostic Tooling: Which specific diagnostic brands (eg, Jaltest, Bosch, Texa) are you most comfortable with? How do you interpret “Ghost Codes”?
-
Safety Protocols: Discuss how you ensure your own safety when working on high-voltage components or during heavy-lifting operations within the workshop.
Compensation & Benefits
-
Monthly Pay: Up to AED 5,000.00 per month (Tax-Free, depending on experience and certification).
-
Job Type: Full-time.
-
Benefits:
-
UAE residency visa and medical insurance.
-
Annual leave and air ticket allowance as per UAE Labor Law.
-
Opportunity to work with the latest diagnostic technology and a wide variety of heavy vehicle brands.
-
A stable, professional work environment with clear safety guidelines.
-
