Job Overview: Executive Communications Manager (HPE Operations)

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a versatile and strategic Executive Communications Manager to support the General Manager of HPE Operations in Houston. This high-impact role is part of the Global Communications team and focuses on the company’s supply chain, logistics, and service delivery arm.

You will act as a “360-degree” communications partner, crafting the narrative for a top leader as they engage with a global audience of customers, partners, and team members. This is a Master-level position designed for a seasoned professional who can navigate a complex, matrixed technology environment.


Key Responsibilities & Strategic Scope

Executive Strategy & Counseling

  • Trusted Advisor: Serve as a communications consultant to the GM of Operations, providing expert guidance on messaging, tone, and delivery across all executive levels.

  • Strategic Alignment: Develop a communication roadmap that aligns with HPE’s “edge-to-cloud” corporate strategy and the specific operational goals of the supply chain organization.

  • 360-Degree Planning: Implement integrated plans for internal engagement, external thought leadership, and major events like the Operations Partner Summit.

Content & Thought Leadership

  • High-Stakes Writing: Produce superior, “ready-to-publish” content, including keynote speeches, social media posts, external publications, and complex presentations.

  • Executive Visibility: Manage the GM’s external profile, ensuring a consistent and compelling voice across digital platforms and public appearances.

  • Internal Engagement: Facilitate transparent, two-way communication between leadership and team members to foster a culture of inclusion and accountability.

Measurement & Media

  • Media Relations: Partner with the Global Marketing team to prepare executives for press conferences, interviews, and public engagements.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Establish and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication initiatives, refining strategies based on performance data.


Qualifications & Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Tenure: 10+ years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

  • Corporate Background: Prior experience in a large corporate or agency environment is highly preferred.

  • Tech Sector Expertise: Recent experience supporting C-suite or top-tier executives at a global technology leader is a significant advantage.

Education & Technical Skills

  • Degree: BA or BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Business.

  • Digital Tools: Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint/SharePoint), Slack, MS Teams, and social media management tools.

  • Language: Superior writing and editing skills with high attention to detail.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $119,500 – $275,000 per year in Texas (plus variable incentives).
