-
The BEO (Banquet Event Order): This is your “Source of Truth.” It contains the timeline, menu, and—most importantly for you—the room diagram.
-
Room Styles: You will pivot between Theater Style (rows of chairs), Classroom Style (tables and chairs), U-Shape, and Crescent Rounds (half-moon seating for dinners with a view of a stage).
-
The “Strike”: This is the rapid breakdown of a room, often happening while a guest is still in the building. It requires “Invisible Efficiency”—moving fast and quietly without disrupting the luxury atmosphere.
Job Description
Do you believe that the perfect event starts long before the first guest arrives? Park Hyatt Toronto is looking for an Event Services Porter to join our world-class team. We don’t just set up rooms; we create the stage for life’s most sophisticated celebrations and business milestones. If you have the “grit” to move a 50-pound dance floor panel with precision and the “wit” to execute a complex room diagram perfectly on the first try, you belong in Yorkville.
In this role, you are a “Precision Partner.” You understand that in a luxury hotel, there is no such thing as “good enough”—the linens must be straight, the chairs perfectly aligned, and the storage rooms organized. Your goal is to provide “Excellence in Event Execution,” caring for our guests by ensuring their environment is flawless. We look for “Integrity-first” professionals who value well-being and are ready to grow within the Hyatt community.
Joining Park Hyatt Toronto means joining a community that values empathy and experimentation. We offer a competitive hourly wage, a supportive work culture, and legendary travel perks. If you are a hospitality professional with a commitment to “Sophisticated Service,” we invite you to apply and help us define the distinct character of Park Hyatt.
Park Hyatt Toronto: Sophistication in the Heart of Yorkville
Park Hyatt Toronto is a landmark of “quiet luxury,” where the culture is defined by Hyatt’s core purpose: “To care for people so they can be their best.” This philosophy manifests as deeply personalized, “high-touch” service that balances professional excellence with genuine empathy. Employees work in an environment that values integrity, humility, and creativity, operating as a close-knit “family” to uphold a legacy of sophisticated hospitality. The atmosphere is refined yet approachable, attracting professionals who take pride in world-class standards and artistic heritage.
Located at the iconic intersection of Avenue Road and Bloor Street West, the hotel serves as a cultural anchor for the prestigious Yorkville neighborhood. Following a massive multi-year transformation, the property now blends its 1936 Art Deco roots with a sleek, modernist North Tower. Working here places you steps from the Royal Ontario Museum and the University of Toronto, within a “living gallery” featuring works by renowned Canadian and Indigenous artists. The crown jewel remains the Writers Room rooftop bar, a historic literary haunt offering unparalleled views of the Toronto skyline.
