Job Summary: Elementary English Teacher – San Diego French-American School (SDFAS)
The San Diego French-American School (SDFAS) is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Elementary English Teacher to join our multicultural faculty in La Jolla, CA (Mount Soledad) for the August 2026 academic year. This full-time position is central to our mission of providing high-quality, standards-based English Language Arts (ELA) instruction to students in Grades 1–5 within a vibrant, bilingual environment.
As an Elementary English Teacher, you will design and implement engaging units that cater to diverse learners through differentiated instruction and literacy expertise. A key component of this role is the close collaboration with French homeroom teachers to ensure curricular coherence across our dual-language program. We prioritize Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and utilize Responsive Classroom practices to foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture. Candidates should be adept at monitoring student growth through data-driven assessments and maintaining professional, transparent communication with families.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and a valid U.S. teaching credential, with at least 3+ years of experience in elementary education.
