OBLIGATIONS

  • Compliant Delivery: Safely transport cannabis products to customers, ensuring strict adherence to AGCO regulations and identity verification at every stop.

  • Consultative Budtending: While in-store, engage with customers to identify their needs, educating them on various strains, consumption methods, and accessories.

  • Operational Accuracy: Use math skills and specialized cannabis POS/delivery software to manage orders, inventory, and GPS routing.

FAQ

What is a CannSell certificate?

It is the mandatory training program for all cannabis retail employees in Ontario. You must complete this online course to legally work in a pot shop.

Do I use my own car for deliveries?

Yes. You must provide your vehicle’s year, make, and model during the application and ensure it is fully insured.

Are the tips significant?

Tips vary by route and customer, but they are a standard “additional pay” type for cannabis delivery drivers in Toronto.

Is there a specific shift I have to work?

The store needs broad coverage (mornings through nights and every weekend), but the schedule is noted as flexible.

Can I apply if I don’t have cannabis experience?

Yes! While knowledge from regulated or unregulated markets is an asset, a background in general retail or sales is highly valued.

Expert Analysis

In 2026, the Toronto cannabis market has shifted toward “boutique” experiences. Minerva’s focus on a “relaxed, calming experience” suggests a higher standard for driver behavior than a standard fast-food courier. Drivers who understand terpene profiles and CBD/THC ratios will likely earn higher tips and more in-store budtending hours.

Location & Logistics Guide

As a “Flagship” store in Toronto, you will likely navigate diverse neighborhoods ranging from high-rise condos to suburban streets. Efficiency is key during “Evening shifts” when traffic peaks. Pro-tip: Familiarize yourself with Toronto’s legal delivery windows (usually 9 AM – 11 PM) to ensure you never miss a compliance cut-off.

Career Path

This dual role is a gateway to the broader cannabis industry. Many Budtender/Drivers progress to Inventory Lead, Social Media Coordinator, or Assistant Store Manager. The combination of customer service and logistics experience is also highly transferable to the pharmaceutical or high-end hospitality sectors.
