Role Summary: Data Center Operations Manager

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is looking for a strategic and “hands-on” Data Center Operations Manager to lead the people and processes that keep the cloud running 24/7. In this high-visibility role, you will be the operational heartbeat of a specific Data Center, managing a diverse team of technicians and operators. You’ll be responsible for everything from day-to-day queue management and 24/7 staffing to leading the response during “Large Scale Events” (outages). This role is perfect for a leader who excels in high-pressure environments, can mentor talent at all levels, and is driven to automate and innovate on behalf of the customer.


Key Requirements & Skills

  • 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of people management experience, including recruiting, training, and developing career paths.

  • 2+ years of operations and on-call support experience in data centers, mission-critical plants, or production facilities.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience in hardware/network diagnostics, Linux systems administration, and low-voltage cabling (copper/fiber).

  • Leadership: Ability to manage shift arrangements, hardware logistics, and act as a “Call Leader” during major system outages.
