Customer Service Associate | Dollar Tree

Location: 4645 E. Broadway Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85040

Status: Part-Time

Store #: 06491

At Dollar Tree, our Customer Service Associates are the heart of the store. You are responsible for making sure every customer who walks in finds what they need in a clean, organized, and friendly environment. This role is a mix of high-energy customer interaction and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a retail store running smoothly.

Your Daily Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction: Act as the go-to person for questions, product recommendations, and friendly service.

  • Transaction Management: Handle cash and card sales accurately at your assigned register while protecting company assets.

  • Inventory & Stocking: Help unload trucks and move merchandise from the backroom to the shelves. You’ll ensure the store is well-stocked and visually appealing.

  • Store Maintenance: Take pride in a clean store by sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and keeping the aisles “recovered” (neat and tidy).

  • Safety & Respect: Maintain a professional and safe environment for both your fellow associates and our shoppers.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience: While a high school diploma is preferred, we highly value previous experience in retail, restaurants, hotels, or grocery environments.

  • Physical Stamina: This is an active role. You must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs (sometimes above your shoulders) and spend your shift walking, standing, kneeling, or climbing.

  • Soft Skills: You need strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills to handle a fast-paced retail floor.

  • Reliability: The ability to follow operational documents and instructions is a must to keep the store compliant and safe.

Perks and Benefits

We care about your “Total Well-being.” In addition to standard medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision insurance, our associates enjoy:

  • Educational Assistance: Get help pursuing your degree or certifications while you work.

  • Financial Future: Access to retirement plans to help you save for the long term.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Support for your mental health and personal well-being.

  • Growth: Opportunities for training and internal promotion within a massive global retail network.

Understanding the Store “Recovery” Process

“Recovery” is a key part of your role. It’s the process of returning a store to its ideal state after a busy rush.

  1. Facing: Pulling products to the front of the shelf so labels are visible.

  2. Go-Backs: Returning items that customers left in the wrong aisles to their correct homes.

  3. Zoning: Straightening displays and removing any trash or cardboard left behind.

  4. Stock Replenishment: Filling holes on the shelves from the overstock inventory.
