Job Overview: Customer Account Manager, Kroger (Houston/Dallas)
INCPG is seeking a high-level Customer Account Manager to lead sales and profit strategies for a major Direct Store Delivery (DSD) portfolio within Kroger’s Dallas and Houston divisions. This role is a critical link between corporate strategy and retail execution, requiring a professional who can manage high-volume accounts while optimizing trade spend and market share.
This is a senior-level position designed for a strategic “influencer” who can maintain headquarters-level relationships while driving field-level merchandising excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Strategic Oversight
Sales & Portfolio Management

Division Leadership: Take full ownership of sales, volume forecasting, and profit targets for all company brands within the assigned Kroger divisions.

HQ Representation: Lead all headquarter-level business reviews and member/group negotiations to secure new items, promotional slots, and display space.

Trade Optimization: Partner with the Planning team to manage annual budgets, temporary pricing changes, and marketing contracts to ensure maximum ROI on trade spend.
Analytics & Market Intelligence

Performance Analysis: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-analysis on all promotions to identify missed opportunities and correct course for future cycles.

Competitive Strategy: Gather real-time competitive intelligence to develop action plans that improve the brand portfolio’s market position.

Forecasting: Maintain high levels of accuracy in full-year volume projections and financial reporting.
Relationship & Project Management

Internal Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between the Customer team and Sales Operations to ensure corporate initiatives are executed perfectly at the store level.

Mentorship: Guide junior colleagues in task setting and objective achievement within project timelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
Professional Background

Experience: 5–7 years of related experience in customer relations or sales, with a strong preference for CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or DSD (Direct Store Delivery) environments.

Leadership: At least 6 months of experience leading and influencing others.

Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of space management programs, P&L management, and merchandising.
Technical & Analytical Skills

Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel (for financial reporting), PowerPoint (for business presentations), Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.

Industry Tools: Familiarity with Market6, 84.51, IRI, or Margin Miner is a significant advantage.

Bilingualism: Proficiency in English and Spanish is considered a plus.
Physical & Travel Standards

Mobility: Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed across the country/region to support the Dallas and Houston markets.
