Job Overview: Senior IT Business Analyst (Credit Risk)
Systems Management Group, Inc. is seeking a high-level Senior IT Business Analyst for a mission-critical role in New York City. This position is designed for a domain expert with over a decade of experience in financial services, specifically focusing on the intersection of Credit Risk and Regulatory Reporting.
This is a hybrid role requiring candidates to be local to the NYC area, as it involves being in the office 5 days every two weeks.
Key Responsibilities & Domain Focus
Regulatory & Risk Domain Mastery

Credit Risk & CCR: Drive analysis for Credit Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) systems.

Capital Calculations: Lead projects involving complex regulatory capital calculations, specifically CEM (Current Exposure Method) and SA-CCR (Standardized Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk).

Basel Compliance: Ensure all business requirements align with Basel 3 and Basel 3.1 regulations.

Regulatory Reporting: Oversee the data requirements and logic for critical filings including FR Y-15, FR Y-9C, and CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review).
Technical & Business Analysis

Requirements Management: Translate high-level regulatory mandates into detailed functional specifications using tools like Jira, Visio, and other requirements management software.

Data Retrieval: Write efficient SQL queries to perform data gap analysis, validate risk numbers, and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Agile Leadership: Function effectively within an Agile framework, managing backlogs and participating in sprint ceremonies.

Global Delivery: Coordinate across an onshore/offshore/nearshore delivery model to ensure seamless execution of technical builds.
Qualifications & Requirements
Professional Experience

Tenure: 10–15 years of experience in business analysis, financial products, or application development.

Location: NYC Locals Only. Candidates must be able to commute to the office for the required hybrid schedule.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical & Soft Skills

Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex “Basel-style” data relationships.

SQL: Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries is a mandatory requirement.

Communication: Strong presentation skills to bridge the gap between Risk managers, Regulatory controllers, and IT developers.
Preferred Certifications

Business Analysis: CCBA or CBAP.

Financial: CFA or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) designations are highly valued.
