Core Responsibilities

Violence Mitigation: Act as the internal first responder to workplace violence; lead physical interventions when necessary to protect patients and staff.

Vigilant Patrol: Monitor and patrol assigned areas of the hospital to prevent security breaches and maintain a safe working environment.

Risk Assessment: Provide operational leadership in identifying and mitigating security risks and public safety threats.

Liaison & Reporting: Coordinate with local law enforcement (RCMP) and ensure the facility remains free of weapons or prohibited items.

Data Management: Collect, track, and report specific data regarding acts of violence to support prevention initiatives.

Relationship Building: Establish a strong rapport with both medical staff and patients/clients to foster a cooperative security culture.
Candidate Requirements

Education: A post-secondary diploma in law enforcement, corrections, criminal justice, or a related field is required.

Military Alternative: In lieu of a diploma, a minimum of five years of military experience is accepted.

Language: Written and spoken competence in English (French is not required for this specific role).

Skills: Strong situational awareness, ability to remain calm under extreme pressure, and decisive leadership during physical interventions.
