Your Role in the Kitchen

You are the engine of the LifeCafe. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every salad, sandwich, and specialty dish meets our standards for freshness and presentation.

  • Production Management: Coordinate with the sandwich and salad stations to keep orders moving smoothly during peak club hours.

  • Recipe Fidelity: Follow our specific recipes to the letter to ensure every member gets the high-quality nutrition they expect.

  • Kitchen Upkeep: From stocking supplies to scrubbing equipment, you’ll help maintain a pristine environment (including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing).

  • Food Safety: Act as a guardian of food safety guidelines, ensuring ingredients are handled and stored correctly.

What You’ll Need

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Certifications: You’ll need your CPR/AED certification within 30 days and your ServSafe certification within 90 days of joining (we can help you with the timeline).

  • Physicality: This is an active role. You must be able to stand for long periods and repetitively lift more than 20 lbs.

  • Experience (Preferred): Previous work in fast-casual or full-service dining, especially with food prep, is a major plus.


The “Back of House” Workflow

Efficiency in a health-focused bistro depends on organized stations. You will primarily operate within the “Hot Line” or “Prep” zones.

  • Prep Station: Chopping, marinating, and weighing ingredients according to daily volume.

  • The Line: Assembling menu items in real-time as orders come in from the front counter.

  • Sanitation Station: Ensuring all tools and surfaces are sanitized between tasks to prevent cross-contamination.
