Unique Job Description

Bilingual Nanny & Mother’s Helper | Multi-Age Foster Family Support

The Opportunity

Our active and loving family of five in Southeast Calgary is looking for a vibrant, Spanish-speaking Nanny to join our household. We are a unique and busy family—as licensed foster parents, our home is often filled with energy, and our needs can shift from caring for our three core children (ages 3, 9, and 10) to welcoming an infant into our care.

We are looking for more than just a childcare provider; we want a “mother’s helper” who can jump in with enthusiasm, help our household run smoothly, and most importantly, help our children connect with their father’s heritage by speaking native Spanish. If you are a nurturing caregiver who thrives in a dynamic, purposeful environment, we would love to meet you.

Your Role & Daily Impact

This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and understands that every day brings something different. You will be a key support system for a busy household, focusing on:

  • Multigenerational Care: Providing attentive, age-appropriate care for our toddler during the day and our older children after school. You must be comfortable and confident potentially caring for infants if a foster placement occurs.

  • Language Enrichment: Acting as a linguistic mentor by engaging the children in native Spanish conversation to support their bilingual development.

  • Household Synergy: Helping keep the home organized through light housekeeping, laundry, and the preparation of healthy meals.

  • Flexible Support: Working four weekdays a week with the flexibility to assist during occasional early evening activities or appointments for the older children.

Who You Are

  • Native Spanish Speaker: You are passionate about sharing your language and culture with the next generation.

  • Developmentally Savvy: You have a deep understanding of what a 3-year-old needs versus a 10-year-old, and you can pivot your care style accordingly.

  • Proactive & Energetic: You see what needs to be done and do it with a positive attitude, whether that’s organizing a craft or starting a load of laundry.

  • Vetted & Reliable: You hold (or are willing to obtain) all necessary Alberta clearances and have a reliable vehicle to help with occasional local pickups.

Position Details

  • Location: SE Calgary (Seton area), conveniently located near transit.

  • Schedule: 4 weekdays per week; flexibility is available as Mom works a casual schedule.

  • Compensation: Negotiable based on your unique experience and the depth of support you provide.
