Professional Job Summary

NCR Atleos, a global leader in financial access and self-service technology, is building a talent pool for Cash in Transit (CIT) Officers in Birmingham. This is a critical security role centered on the safe transport and deployment of cash and valuables to ATM networks and retail locations. You will operate as a driver or courier, working in a high-security environment that demands strict adherence to safety protocols, precise documentation, and reliable timekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Security & Transit: Ensure the secure transport of valuables, switching between driving and courier duties as required by operational schedules.

  • ATM Servicing: Manage the physical replenishment and maintenance of ATM cash supplies.

  • Operational Compliance: Adhere to the Highway Code and company safety policies with 100% precision. Complete all associated documentation accurately to meet daily service targets.

  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain professional working relationships with internal branch management and external customers during every delivery/collection.

  • Communication: Provide clear, timely updates to the management team regarding any operational concerns or security risks.

Key Requirements & Vetting

  • Traceable History: You must be able to provide a 10-year continuous employment and education history. Any gaps must be fully accounted for.

  • Licensing: A valid Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points). A CVIT SIA licence is desirable; if you hold one, you receive a £1,000 joining bonus after probation. If you do not have one, NCR Atleos provides fully funded training.

  • Security Clearance: Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive criminal record and credit background checks.

Shifts & Benefits

  • Schedule: 45 hours per week. Flexible patterns: 4 days (11.25 hours/day) or 5 days (9 hours/day). Shifts operate between 4:20 AM and 8:00 PM.

  • Leave: 26 days annual leave (4-day pattern) or 32 days (5-day pattern).

  • Family Support: Enhanced maternity pay (up to 19 weeks full pay) and enhanced paternity pay (up to 2 weeks full pay).

  • Financial & Health: Defined contribution pension, life assurance, income protection, 75% employer-funded private medical cover, and access to dental/health plans.

  • Lifestyle: EV car scheme, cycle to work, retail discounts, and MyGym membership.

Market & Industry Context

The Cash in Transit industry remains a foundational pillar of the UK economy. Even as digital payments grow, the demand for physical cash access—particularly in ATM networks—remains high. For a CIT officer in 2026, the role combines physical security, logistical precision, and a high degree of trust. It is a stable career path with rigorous standards that are highly valued across the logistics and security sectors.

Career Growth & Progression Path

  • Senior CIT Officer: Take on additional responsibilities for team training, route planning, or high-value transit oversight.

  • Branch/Operations Management: Use your knowledge of NCR Atleos’s operational systems to transition into managing a local cash-processing branch.

  • Security Consultancy: Your background in high-risk transit and security protocols is a valuable asset for private security firms or large-scale risk management consultancies.
