Job Overview: Travel Echo Technologist (Cardiovascular)

AMN Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Echo Sonographer for a 13-week travel assignment at a well-respected hospital in Los Angeles. This role is designed for a skilled clinician who can step into a fast-paced cardiovascular department and provide high-quality diagnostic imaging immediately.

As a Cardiovascular Non-Invasive Technologist, you are the “eyes” of the cardiologist. Your ability to capture precise images of the heart’s chambers, valves, and blood flow is critical for diagnosing complex cardiac conditions in one of the nation’s leading healthcare hubs.


Key Responsibilities & Clinical Expertise

Diagnostic Imaging

  • Echocardiography: Perform high-quality resting and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart wall motion and valve function.

  • Patient Preparation: Explain procedures to patients, review medical histories, and ensure physical comfort and proper positioning for optimal imaging.

  • Advanced Equipment: Operate sophisticated ultrasound hardware and software to capture real-time 2D, 3D, and Doppler images of the heart.

Clinical Collaboration

  • Physician Assistance: Work closely with cardiologists to provide accurate documentation and preliminary findings.

  • Specialized Care: Utilize pediatric experience (preferred) to adjust imaging techniques for younger patients with congenital or acquired heart issues.

  • On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations to support emergency cardiac diagnostics outside of standard day shifts.


Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory Credentials

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience performing resting and stress echocardiograms.

  • Certifications: Must hold active ARDMS (RDCS) and BLS certifications.

  • Professionalism: A commitment to maintaining a friendly, positive, and professional environment in a high-stakes clinical setting.
